To officially unveil our software development centre Ho Chi Minh City, we were very privileged to receive Mr. Conor Lenihan T.D., the Irish Minister for Science, Technology, Innovation and Natural Resources along with H.E. Ms Maeve Collins, Ambassador of Ireland, and Michael Garvey, ASEAN Regional Director for Enterprise Ireland. Before flying to Hanoi to mark St. Patrick’s Day in the Vietnamese capital, the guests toured the Glandore Systems offices in Ho Chi Minh City and learned about the work that we do. Minister Lenihan’s background in telecoms led to an interesting discussion about marketplaces for mobile applications and what the future holds, particularly for the iPhone and Android apps.
During his trip to Vietnam, Minister Lenihan also spoke of the upcoming Vietnam Ireland Business Forum, and his belief that the event will usher in a new phase of economic growth between Ireland and Vietnam and that we will see very rapid growth in two-way trade in the coming years. This is an event that Glandore Systems will be looking forward to, as it brings together up to ten Irish ICT companies together to Vietnam in an effort to create partnerships between Vietnamese and Irish ICT companies. The VIBF will take place on 15 April.
